Harris Teeter Parent Company Granted Name Change

On March 28 Ruddick Corp. became Harris Teeter Supermarkets Inc., with its new NYSE ticker symbol, HTSI, which becomes active April 2. The company also relocated its principal office to Matthews, N.C., where Harris Teeter’s offices operate on Crestdale Road.

The name change was prompted by Ruddick’s sell-off of its American & Efird subsidiary that made industrial thread, which left Harris Teeter as the company’s sole business.

With the change to Harris Teeter Supermarkets Inc., executive officers have new titles.

Thomas W. Dickson has been named chairman of the board and CEO, previously having served as chairman, president and CEO of Ruddick Corp.; Frederick J. Morganthall II has been named president and COO, previously having served as president of Harris Teeter Inc.; John B. Woodlief has been named EVP and CFO, previously having served as VP-finance and CFO; and Rodney C. Antolock has been named EVP, previously having served as EVP of operations & merchandising for Harris Teeter Inc. The executive officer appointments are effective April 2.
