Tropicana Trop50 Grows Line Of Fewer-Calorie Offerings

Last updated on September 6th, 2012 at 11:54 am

Tropicana Trop50 is introducing innovative offerings, including a new platform that combines fruit juice goodness with tea, and a new exotic red orange flavor.

• Trop50 Juice with Tea is a new line that offers fruit juice goodness with 50 percent fewer calories, now with tea. These refreshingly different juice with tea combinations are made with delicious fruit juices and white and green teas to deliver a great-tasting and nutritious juice beverage. The line includes Trop50 Peach with White Tea, Trop50 Raspberry with Green Tea and Trop50 Pear Lychee with White Tea. With 35-45 calories in each 8-oz. glass, they provide a full day’s supply of vitamin C and good source of antioxidant vitamin E.

• Trop50 Red Orange delivers the goodness of orange juice with 50 percent less sugar and calories, and no artificial sweeteners. It blends nutritious orange juice with lush red oranges for a unique, refreshingly smooth, delicious taste. With 50 calories in each 8-oz. glass, it provides a full day’s supply of vitamin C and good source of potassium.

“Trop50 is one of the most successful new product launches in the last five years. It’s clear that we’re easing the tension for consumers who love fruit juice but also are sugar and calorie conscious,” said Kate Keller, Trop50 director of marketing. “These leading-edge flavors give people even more ways to enjoy refreshing fruit juice goodness throughout the day.”

Available nationwide in May, the suggested retail price for 59-oz. bottles is $3.96. Peach with White Tea and Raspberry with Green Tea also are available in 12-oz. bottles for $1.69.

The ‘Girlfriends’ campaign continues

To support these new varieties, Trop50 will air new TV spots extending the humorous “Girlfriends” advertising campaign starring three-time Emmy nominee and Tony Award-winner Jane Krakowski. In the campaign, Krakowski and a trio of girlfriends dish about life, love, and looking and feeling good.

In the Red Orange spot, Krakowski sings the praises of the new taste experience to her friends, waking her neighbors with a lively rendition of “I’m Walking on Sunshine.” The Juice with Tea spot features Krakowski in a daydream with heartthrob Gilles Marini, who played Luc Laurent on ABC’s hit family drama “Brothers & Sisters” and also is well known for his second place finish on season eight of “Dancing With the Stars.” They engage in a seductive dance but Krakowski reveals that her true desire is for something exotic and refreshingly different, like juice with tea.

The ads, created by Contagious Content, were directed by “Made of Honor” Director Paul Weiland.

The fruity Trop50 family

Additional Trop50 juice beverage varieties include Lemonade, Raspberry Lemonade, Pomegranate Blueberry, Pineapple Mango, Farmstand Apple and the original Orange offerings. Trop50 Orange is available in several varieties, including No Pulp, Some Pulp and No Pulp Calcium & Vitamin D, which provides 35 percent daily value of calcium and 25 percent daily value of vitamin D—an excellent source of both nutrients.

All Trop50 varieties are made with delicious juice and the breakthrough use of a zero-calorie, all-natural stevia-based sweetener known as PureVia(TM). PureVia is the highest quality, all natural extract of the stevia plant called Reb A. In Trop50, PureVia enhances the sweetness of real fruit juice, naturally.
