Andronico’s Invests in Butcher Certification

Andronico’s Community Markets has been busy over the last several months setting the stage for a new era as part of its indelible 83-year history.

Besides the multi-million dollar investment for store renovations and repairs, the management team at the San Francisco company also is focused on investing in its people. All of the company’s butchers have just completed a comprehensive certification program putting them “a cut above the rest,” (pun intended, a company news release states). The company said the caliber of expertise by their team of butchers is something it has always hung its hat on. Many of them have been with the company more than 20 years.

Andronico’s Community Markets has a team of chefs in each store who cook on-site. They create an array of prepared foods that are ready to grab and enjoy. The menu also accommodates for catering functions.

“You should see all the activity behind the counter. It’s like cooking in our own restaurant,” said Chef Dale Divish. “It really does make Andronico’s a special place to work and why I love it.”

“We’re fully engaged and committed to providing our customers with fresh, quality food at affordable prices,” Andronico’s Community Markets COO Justin Jackson said. “We’re really excited about our plans for the future focusing on our communities with great customer service and unparalleled industry knowledge that you just won’t see anywhere else.”

Andronico’s procurement team is well known in the industry and highly regarded for its expertise and eye toward quality, organic and natural foods. The team’s approach is to provide a wide variety of products with items not seen anywhere else, the company said, adding that being able to buy Grade AA White Extra Large Eggs and Uncle Charlie’s Famous Hen Eggs all under one roof is what drives customers to their stores.

“Our product selection is really amazing as you can find everything from A-to-I’ve never seen that before,” said director of grocery Jessica Willett.

Andronico’s Community Markets is a progressive, privately owned grocery retailer that has been in business since 1929. Its five stores cater to the gourmet shopper with a wide range of specialty, organic and natural grocery items, fresh and locally grown produce, full-service meat and fish counters, on-site chefs, one-of-kind and imported food brands, fresh flowers, a deli with freshly cooked foods, artisan baked goods and kitchen wares.
