Sheetz Opening Store In Graham, N.C., Today

Gas and convenience store chain Sheetz will open a new store today in Graham, N.C., today, June 21. It will be the Altoona, Pa., company’s 44th store in North Carolina.

The Business Journal reports that Sheetz Inc. officials say the 6,500-s.f. store will create up to 45 jobs and add $3.5 million in taxable property value to the city and county tax base.

Stan Sheetz, company president and CEO, said in a statement that 10 of the 32 new stores that his company will open this year will be located in North Carolina.

“North Carolina continues to be a viable market for Sheetz expansion,” he said.

The opening of the Graham store at 1138 South Main St. follows the opening of Sheetz locations this spring in Mount Airy and Greensboro, N.C.

The company also is still considering the Triad for a $40 million distribution center that could add 250 new jobs, according to the Journal.
