Sprouts Farmers Market to Open Second San Jose Location

Sprouts Farmers Market, a natural and organic food retailer, is scheduled to open its second San Jose, Calif.,  Aug. 1.

The new location will be at 1130 Branham Ln. at the Almaden Expressway.

The San Jose location will feature the fresh, local produce Sprouts customers expect along with all-natural meats and seafood. In addition, the store will have a large bulk selection, natural health and wellness products, a bakery and a deli with ready-to-go items including to gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Sprouts merged with Sunflower Farms Market earlier this year; the Branham location will open under the company’s Sunflower name because the merger took place after signage and permits were obtained. However, the company will re-brand the store by the end of 2012 to Sprouts Farmers Market.

“Whether under the Sunflower name or the Sprouts name, shoppers can rest assured that from day one they can expect to find affordable all-natural, organic and great-tasting groceries; an easy, efficient shopping experience; and friendly service,” said Doug Sanders, president of Sprouts.

The company has scheduled opening events, beginning with a ribbon cutting ceremony and goodie bags for the first 200 paying customers. The store will host samples and demos all day Aug. 1. On Aug. 4, customers will receive a coupon book for five free sandwiches with their purchase.
