The Dairy Deli Bakery Council (DDBC) of Southern California held a special dinner meeting July 12.

Pete Carroll, head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, served as the keynote speaker. Carroll, in 2010, and after one of the most successful careers in the college ranks (USC), became the eighth head coach for the Seahawks.

After fielding questions from the packed ballroom, Carroll spoke about his nonprofit organization he founded called “A Better L.A.” The nonprofit helps individuals and communities reduce gang violence, distribute food to the needy and has now expanded. He also recently founded “A Better Seattle,” which helps communities in the Seattle area.
