Poland Spring Water Sponsoring Half Marathon in Rhode Island
Poland Spring has supported various running events for more than 20 years, including the upcoming Rock ‘n’ Roll Providence Half Marathon on Sunday, Aug. 19. Poland Spring Natural Spring Water, sourced from carefully selected natural springs, is contributing 830-plus cases of water that will be available at the start and finish lines, as well as along the course at official hydration stations.
“Poland Spring is excited to sponsor the Rock ‘n’ Roll Providence Half Marathon for the second year in a row,” says Greg Berumen, senior brand manager at Poland Spring Natural Spring Water. “We’re proud to share the runners’ passion and to provide them with hydration to help them achieve their personal best.”
This year, a team of 20 Poland Spring employees that work out of Nestle Waters North America’s headquarters in Stamford, Conn., are running the Rock ‘n’ Roll Providence Half Marathon as a team.
“Our team is thrilled to join Providence runners this year,” says Angela Barile, Poland Spring running team captain. “We know that hydration will be an important part of our success and we can’t wait to represent Poland Spring, our inspiration for personal betterment, as we cross the finish line.”
Along with Poland Spring Natural Spring Water, Josh Cox also will be at the 2012 Health & Fitness Expo from 3-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Cox, the American record holder in the 50K, four-time Olympic Trials qualifier and three-time U.S. National Team member, will be at the Poland Spring booth, No. 537, to share hydration tips and expert training advice. Specifically, he will offer his advice about personal training regiments, the importance of staying hydrated and injury prevention.
“I’m excited to work with such an iconic brand,” says Cox. “The fact that Poland Spring has a team of runners participating exemplifies their passion for the brand and for their own journey to self betterment.”
