All-Star Speakers to Highlight LEAD Marketing Conference

Last updated on August 28th, 2012 at 10:29 am

Executives from Coca-Cola, Bozzuto’s, and Barilla America will highlight the agenda of all-star speakers at the 4th annual LEAD Marketing Conference, to be held Oct. 1-3 at the Westin O’Hare in Chicago. Special educational workshops on retail technology and marketing will be held just prior to the start of the conference.

LEAD, hosted by the Shopper Technology Institute, is the industry’s most comprehensive event focusing on all aspects of loyalty, engagement, analytics and digital applications.

Through a special arrangement, readers of The Shelby Report will have free registration.

Topics on the LEAD agenda include: shopper marketing, social media, interactive promotion strategies, loyalty marketing, mobile marketing, category analytics, among others. More details can be found here.

The educational agenda will consist of general sessions and three tracks—one for loyalty and engagement, one for digital promotions, and one for POS and category analytics. Table-top exhibits, networking receptions and meals will bring together retailers, manufacturers and vendors.

The retail technology workshop, sponsored by the National Grocers Association (NGA), will be facilitated by Gary Hawkins, president of Hawkins Strategic and CART (Center for Advancing Retail Technology). This workshop is designed for independent and mid-market retailers. It will focus on branding, developing a unique market position, impact and use of social networking, and related topics.

Carrie Shea, president of Acosta’s AMG Strategic Advisors, will facilitate the trade marketing workshop. She is the co-author of one of the industry’s most robust reports, “The Trend Behind the Spend.” The workshop will focus on actionable steps for maximizing marketing budgets, gaining a competitive advantage and leveraging trends

“ShopperTech Connect,” a series of one-to-one meetings between vendors and customers, will take place prior to the start of the conference. Retailers and manufacturers taking part in Connect will have their travel and hotel expenses covered, in addition to complimentary conference registration.

LEAD is the first conference to focus on understanding and leveraging the many emerging technologies crucial to attracting and maintaining shoppers, as well as providing much-needed differentiation in today’s competitive marketplace. The event is geared to consumer product manufacturers and retailers.
