Mayfield Dairy Visitor Center In Braselton, Ga., Reopens On Friday

After closing its Braselton, Ga., visitor center last October, Mayfield Dairy will reopen the facilities to the public beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9. A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand reopening will be held at 10:05 a.m.

Festivities on Friday also will include a tallest ice cream cone contest at 10:15 a.m. that will call on local elected officials to scoop and stack the tallest ice cream comes; ice cream eating contests, frozen T-shirt contests and milk chug-a-lug contests; tours that include vintage dairy images, a life-size cow on which guests can try their hand at milking, a working dairy test lab and working processing equipment such as a pasteurizer and homogenizer (Scottie Mayfield will host a tour at 10:40 a.m.); and sampling of Mayfield ice cream flavors, including seasonal favorites like Peppermint Stick and Snow Cream.

Mayfield Dairy Braselton Visitor Center is located at 1160 Broadway Ave.
