Family Dollar Names SVP For Food

Family Dollar's Tammy DeBoer

Family Dollar Stores Inc. has promoted Tammy DeBoer to SVP for food. She replaces Trey Johnson III, who left the company in October to pursue other opportunities.

The Charlotte Business Journal reports that the Matthews, N.C.-based discount retailer says DeBoer will work to increase customer loyalty by enhancing its food offerings. Family Dollar wants to expand its market share in that area.

“Providing customers with a compelling food assortment is key to driving trips and an important initiative for Family Dollar,” says Paul White, EVP and CMO.

DeBoer joined Family Dollar in June as director of private brands. She previously was VP and GM for Salisbury-based Delhaize America Inc. at its grocery chain Bloom, which has been shuttered. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University.

Family Dollar operates more than 7,400 stores in 45 states. It was founded in 1959.
