Southern Seasons

Southern Season plans to open a store in Charleston, S.C., in the early summer of 2013. The 44,000-s.f. store will be owned by The Beach Co. and located at the Brookgreen Town Center on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant.

The store will include one of the world’s largest gourmet food markets with a vast selection of local and international products, a full-service restaurant, extensive wine selection, a cooking school and an expanded bakery. The company has plans for stores throughout the Southeast, including Richmond, Charlotte, Birmingham, Atlanta, Nashville and Northern Virginia, as well as Palm Beach and Naples, Fla.

Larry Shaw, president and CEO of Southern Season, said, “Charleston is the ideal market for our customers. We have a strong belief and heritage in gourmet food, food education and hospitality and a passion for the art of entertaining.”

“We are delighted to have such a prestigious store in our area,” Charlie Way, chairman of The Beach Co., said.

Southern Season has called Chapel Hill home since it was founded in 1975. The 60,000-s.f. gourmet food emporium in Chapel Hill has won more than 60 local, regional and national awards, including 10 in 2012 alone.
