United Natural Foods Inc. has appointed Denise M. Clark to the company’s board of directors. Clark joins UNFI as an independent director and brings more than two decades of information technology experience, including experience in the delivery of enterprise resource planning (also known as ERP), digital platforms and innovative business transformation initiatives. She also has been a leader in change and governance programs that drive business value and success. Her appointment increases the total number of company directors to nine, including seven independent directors.
Clark, 55, has served as SVP and global CIO for The Estee Lauder Cos. Inc. since November 2012. Prior to that role, she served as SVP and CIO for Hasbro Inc. from October 2007 to November 2012. Clark also served at Mattel Inc., where she was global chief technology officer and later CIO for the Fisher Price brand between January 2000 and February 2007. Clark’s previous experience includes two other consumer goods companies, Warner Music Group, formerly a division of Time Warner Inc., as well as Apple Inc.
United Natural Foods carries and distributes more than 65,000 products to more than 27,000 customer locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Rhode Island-based company serves a variety of retail formats including conventional supermarket chains, natural product superstores, independent retail operators and the foodservice channel.
