Former KCBS CEO and owner Sarsgard has left the company

Co-Sales Co. of Arizona and Carlin O’Brien of Illinois, along with John Rutherford and John Schipper of Cincinnati, have completed the acquisition of KCBS, a Cincinnati-based sales and marketing agency.

“We are pleased to announce new ownership for KCBS, which will now be called BeaconUnited Cincinnati,” says Rutherford, who will remain the company’s president. “In our partnership with Co-Sales and Carlin O’Brien, we are maintaining the legacy, know-how and deep knowledge of the industry, with renewed dedication and emphasis on a full service model. We will provide clients with the retail and sales execution they deserve. We want to embrace the BeaconUnited spirit of cooperation and provide full service following the sale—through all divisions all the way to the store level.”

BeaconUnited Cincinnati is committed to Kroger’s “Customer First Strategy” throughout all levels of Kroger, including: Kroger GO, Kroger divisions (follow through, as directed by plans approved at GO) and Kroger stores (continuity calls as well as KOMPASS resets).

Don Cox, CEO of co-sales, says he believes by maintaining the longstanding management and insight with Rutherford as president and Schipper as VP, the organization will build on previous successes.

“We will offer our customers and clients a seamless transition by retaining account executives and enhanced account administrative support,” Cox says.

The office in Cincinnati will continue to work with other BeaconUnited members and offer more opportunities for growth to the clients it serves.

“We will provide clients with the retail and sales execution they deserve,” says Jeff Mahler, president of Carlin O’Brien. “We want to embrace the BeaconUnited spirit of cooperation and provide full service following the sale—through all divisions all the way to the store level.”

“We take pride in our longstanding industry relationships and are confident this new direction will serve to enhance the ability to provide superior sales and services,” Schipper says.

Lynn Sarsgard, former CEO/owner of KCBS, has left the company to pursue other interests.
