Specialty food market Orchard Fresh celebrated the grand opening of its first location over the weekend. The store opened Sunday in Western New York in Orchard Park and is located at 4050 North Buffalo Rd.

At nearly 30,000 s.f., Orchard Fresh is a combination of specialty, upscale and gourmet foods with a focus on natural and organic, a strong emphasis on the health-conscious consumer and food items sourced both locally and globally. At the center of the store, customers will find the Orchard Fresh Kitchen and Delicatessen boasting an array of gourmet prepared food selections. There are fully prepared meals, soups, made-to-order salads, sandwiches and wood-fired pizza, with healthy alternatives for special diets. Guests also are able to purchase Boar’s Head deli meats and more than 300 varieties of cheeses from local farms and from countries around the world including France, Belgium, Holland and the U.K.

“We’re confident that Western New Yorkers will enjoy the tastes, aromas, textures and sensations that can only be found at Orchard Fresh,” says Kevin Donovan, director of Orchard Fresh. “Whether guests are looking for an indulgent culinary experience, or want to find foods that fit into a specific diet or lifestyle, Orchard Fresh will inspire the food lover in everyone.”

Western New York-based Tops Friendly Markets created and is supporting this new specialty store concept.

“There is both tremendous passion and a real opportunity within our community for authentic, specialty gourmet-inspired food that doesn’t necessarily fit within a traditional grocery store setting,” says Frank Curci, president and CEO of Tops Markets. “The Orchard Fresh concept is designed to suit that specific need and we think the Western New York community is going to really enjoy the experience.”

Tops Friendly Markets, a full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and Vermont, operates 155 full-service supermarkets—150 company-owned and five franchise locations under the Tops, Grand Union and Bryant’s banners.
