Natural Grocers Opening Tulsa Store; Donating To Tornado, Fire Victims
Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage is opening its newest location in Tulsa, Okla., on Tuesday. The Tulsa store at 9137 E. 71st St. will be the company’s second in Oklahoma, joining a Norman store. Additionally, Natural Grocers is kicking off a campaign to help victims of the recent Oklahoma tornadoes and Colorado wildfires. Natural Grocers will match donations made at any of its 68 Natural Grocers locations beginning Saturday and running through June 29. All funds raised, plus matching funds up to $25,000, will be equitably divided between the OKStrong Disaster Relief Fund and the Colorado Red Cross to benefit victims of the recent tornadoes and the wildfires. Funds will be allocated to the highest need within the affected communities.
Natural Grocers, based in Colorado, offers only natural and organic products on its shelves: shoppers will find only USDA-certified organic produce, meats from animals raised naturally without the use of antibiotics or hormones, as well as other organic and natural groceries free of artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners and hydrogenated oils. The grocery chain also offers an extensive natural dietary supplement and body care department, and a large selection of gluten-free and other special dietary need products.
“Oklahoma has proven to be a great fit for Natural Grocers—with its active and healthy lifestyles and keen awareness of issues around sustainable agriculture and healthy food,” says Kemper Isely, Natural Grocers co-president. “Nutrition should be affordable. We believe the Tulsa community will enjoy our huge selection of healthy options, as well as our free classes, seminars, cooking demonstrations and nutritional coaching.”
