Albertsons LLC’s Southern California Division opened its latest store on Wednesday at 1321 Johnson Ave. in San Luis Obispo. It celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event.
“The new San Luis Obispo Albertsons is your neighborhood grocery store,” says Steve Sistler, store director. “Shoppers will see our focus on fresh with a dash of local flavor in each of the departments.”
Local products from the along the coast, such as Central Coast Seafood, Cayucos Oranges and Cal Poly Eggs, are among the items showcased in the new store. Other features include a fresh salad and sushi bar, expanded organic, natural and gluten-free products and an Albertsons Butcher Block. The store also plans to host seasonal wine, beer and spirit-tasting events.
As part of the ongoing grand opening celebration, Sistler and his team plan to make donations to the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo and the Women’s Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo County.
Grand opening festivities will continue Saturday when the store team hosts Customer Appreciation Day featuring games, entertainment, giveaways and prizes as well as local growers and vendors offering a variety of in-store samples.
