Mars Associates Volunteer With Habitat Topeka Prior To Plant Opening

Mars volunteers in Topeka, Kan.

Mars Chocolate North America’s manufacturing plant in Topeka is scheduled to open later this year and, earlier this month, approximately 50 Mars associates participated in the Mars Volunteer Program by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Topeka to build a home.

The effort was part of M&M’S effort to “M’Prove America,” a program designed to fund the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes across the country in 2013, as well as encourage fans to join the cause via the brand’s Facebook page.

On Oct. 16, the company also presented a check to Downtown Topeka Inc. for its Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative.
