Ben & Jerry’s Annual Scoop Truck Tour Arrives in Tampa

Ben & Jerry's truck

Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Truck kicked off its annual month-long tour in Tampa on Monday, giving away free scoops to loyal fans. The truck will be scooping its newest line of flavor innovations: Ben & Jerry’s Cores. Additionally, this year, Ben & Jerry’s very own storyteller, Regan Cleminson, is joining the truck crew, giving ice cream lovers the inside scoop on the truck’s winding path and reporting on all the things that make Tampa so unique—from the people she meets, to the food she tries and the experiences she has throughout the month.

Through May 29, the truck will scoop out free super premium chunks and swirls at local community events, businesses and nonprofits.

While giving away free scoops is nothing new for the Vermont-based ice cream company, the stops that the Scoop Truck will make will be a little different this year. The storyteller will help guide the truck, ensuring it is hitting unique and local areas of the city and engaging fans for their recommendations on where to go.

“For the past few years we’ve been dishing out free scoops around the country to connect with our fans in local cities,” says Cleminson. “This year we wanted further engage the community to make sure we’re experiencing first-hand what makes each city so unique. I’m looking forward to cataloging bodacious barbecue creations, taking in the beaches and local hot spots while meeting all of the cool people in Tampa.”

The 2014 Scoop Truck tour will feature two of 2014’s newest core flavors, including:
• Salted Caramel: Sweet cream ice cream with blonde brownies and a salted caramel swirl; and

• Hazed & Confused: Hazelnut and chocolate ice creams with fudge chips and a hazelnut fudge swirl.
