Three Ga. Winn-Dixie Stores Converting To Harveys Beginning This Weekend

Winn-Dixie, a subsidiary of Bi-Lo Holdings, will begin rebranding three Georgia stores to the Harveys banner this Saturday.

The stores at 2800 Old Dawson Rd. in Albany, 1553 U.S. 19 S. in Leesburg and 1208 Crawford St. in Americus will close  Saturday for conversion and reopen Friday,  June 13, as Harveys stores. To ensure customer prescription needs are met, Winn-Dixie pharmacies will operate during normal business hours throughout the conversion.

“Upon reopening as a Harveys, customers will be pleased to see the same smiling faces they have known for years as well as daily in-store savings programs from Harveys,” said Jimmy Purvis, Harveys’ regional VP. “Plus, we will continue to offer traditional Winn-Dixie in-store savings programs like the fuelperks! fuel reward program, which lets customers earn incredible gas savings every time they shop with their Harveys Hometown Rewards Key.

“Harveys has been a member of the Albany community for nearly 60 years, and the  addition of these stores only enhances our continued dedication to the Albany area,” he added. “As we marry the best offerings from Winn-Dixie with the best of Harveys we believe our customers will be very happy with the outcome. And, as a member of the Bi-Lo Holdings family, we look forward to continuing to offer our customers great service, exceptional products and an excellent shopping experience every day.”

The store conversions come after Bi-Lo Holdings received approval earlier this year from the Federal Trade Commission to acquire substantially all of the stores in the Sweetbay, Harveys and Reid’s supermarket chains from Delhaize America.
