Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) has announced the promotions of two officers, along with several other changes to its leadership team. Brian Johnson has been promoted to SVP-division manager, and Ray Harrison has been promoted to VP of center store for category management.

Johnson most recently served as VP-district manager for 13 Tyler-area Brookshire’s stores. In his new role, he will oversee Brookshire’s eastern division, which includes 53 stores in portions of northeast Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Johnson joined BGC in 1987 as a courtesy clerk in Winnsboro, Texas. He later served in several other Texas stores as a stocker, assistant store manager and store director before his promotion in 2000 to district manager.

Harrison had served as a category manager in center store since BGC’s transition to the category management business model in 2007. He also has more than 22 years of retail experience, including serving as store director of Super 1 Foods in Marshall, Texas. Harrison is a certified professional strategic advisor and a member of the Category Management Association.

With these promotions come several additional leadership changes. Pete Leung, most recently SVP-division manager, is now SVP of category management. Leung will oversee all aspects of the category management area including product procurement, merchandising, fuel operations and vendor relations.

Trent Brookshire, SVP-division manager, now oversees the 65 Brookshire’s stores in the western division, which spans from the Tyler area to West Texas.

Roger Story, previously VP of center store, has taken on the role of VP–district manager for 13 Brookshire’s stores in Longview, Texas, and the surrounding areas.

In addition, Wesley Hooper, previously VP-district manager for 14 Brookshire’s stores in northeast Texas, now oversees Brookshire’s stores in the Tyler area.

Keith Ridgeway, most recently VP-district manager for Brookshire’s stores in Longview and surrounding areas, has assumed leadership of 14 Brookshire’s stores in northeast Texas.

Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 152 stores in three states—Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas —with three distribution centers and seven manufacturing facilities.
