More than 270 golfers took to the links at Pacific Palms Golf Resort in the City of Industry last month to support the “2014 Friends of Bristol Farms Golf Tournament” and the City of Hope. This year’s event marked the 20th anniversary of the tournament and the 10th year of City of Hope being the primary benefactor. Last year the tournament was moved to Pacific Palms after a nine-year run at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda. Due to the incredible popularity of the tournament the event committee was challenged with finding a suitable venue that had two courses and could accommodate the phenomenal growth, according to organizers.

The event committee—Steve Howard, Glenn Yamashita, Craig Tsuchiyama, Pat Posey, Cathie Tartadian, Margie Waite, Josh Pepin and Doug Poling—were pleased with the tourney’s results. More than 60 Bristol Farms family members participated, along with numerous vendor partners and sponsors. Additionally, the donation to City of Hope topped $55,000, beating the all-time record of $44,000 that was set last year. The tourney has raised a total of $125,000 in the past three years for the City of Hope.

“Many Bristol Farms family members and extended family have been blessed with partnering with City of Hope to fight personal battles with cancer,” organizers said. “This makes the event even more special and meaningful for all those involved with hosting it.”
