Fleet Advantage, a leading innovator in truck fleet business analytics, equipment financing and lifecycle management, reports that its clean diesel initiative that began in 2011 has reached a new milestone. With multiple new clients, the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based company’s equipment orders for Class 8 tractors for the six-month period ending June 2014 exceeded 1,500 tractors, marking significant growth.

Peter Flynn, SVP of portfolio management and remarketing, explains that the company’s innovative EXchangeIT business model has attracted a range of new clients in various industries, including food processing and distribution. EXchangeIT allows clients the option to upgrade equipment after three years based on lower cost opportunities using newer equipment technologies that reduce maintenance costs and lower fuel consumption providing a lower annual cost of ownership.

Fleet Advantage says it is saving its clients in excess of $12,000-$15,000 per tractor in the first year of operation by purchasing and disposing of pre-2011 equipment and replacing it with new 2015 clean diesel tractors.

“Our EXchangeIT product maximizes fuel economy and reduces maintenance costs. Clients are experiencing as much as a 20 percent improvement in fuel economy by replacing older equipment with new 2015 tractors, which translates into millions of dollars in annual savings,” said Flynn. “With the combined strength of the used truck market, our clients are also able to capture immediate gains on sale.”

Flynn attributes the company’s continued growth in part to client acceptance of big data analytics, continuous improvement of clean diesel equipment and a flexible financing model.
