There’s a special place in the hearts of Albertsons Southern California Division associates for the City of Hope and the youngest patients battling cancer. Albertsons’ 2014 “Kids for Hope” POS mobile campaign saw team members challenging their creativity beyond the limits in the quest to raise money and awareness of pediatric cancer. And even more thrilling for them was sharing in their customer’s engagement. Associates were elated to culminate the four-week spring drive having raised $500,000.
Earlier this month, Division President Wayne Denningham, VP of Marketing and Merchandising Greg McNiff and VP of Operations Wendy Oliver attended a special meeting to laud and thank the division’s top 18 store directors, their support teams and district manager who raised the most money. It also served as an opportunity make the official check presentation to Cheryl Kennick, City of Hope’s senior director of development.
The store directors also welcomed Dr. Judith Sato, director of the City of Hope’s pediatric, hematology oncology division, who shared her thoughts on what the monies raised and this effort signify to the cause.
