Publix Super Markets customers and associates heeded the call to “put their money where the miracles are” by showing immense support for local sick and injured kids during this year’s Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals in-store campaign.

The fundraiser, held May 22-June 13, resulted in a campaign life record of $3,224,766 for 21 Southeast regional hospitals. This year’s fundraising total has resulted in more than $30 million raised since Publix and CMN Hospitals partnered.

2014 marks the 23rd year Publix associates and customers have rallied to help their nearest CMN Hospital through the purchase of $1, $3 and $5 “Miracle Balloons” at the register. Their generous donations given at 1,078 Publix stores help fund a variety of live-saving treatments, purchase critical medical equipment and provide needed charitable care, research and education.

“We know Publix customers value superior quality. And that’s exactly what they provide when they make a donation to their local CMN Hospital: the best in pediatric care for local hospitalized kids,” said John Lauck, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals president and CEO. “Achieving new record funds directly translates to our member hospitals making the best care better, resulting in more lives’ saved and improved.”

Added Maria Brous, Publix director of media and community relations, “We are proud of our long-standing relationship with Children Miracle Network Hospitals in our operating areas. Our customers and associates are raising the much needed funding for life-saving equipment, programs and research. We couldn’t make miracles happen without the support of our loyal Publix shoppers.”
