Ron Onorato, former key leader and executive at Stop & Shop in Connecticut and Metro New York, was named president and COO of Inserra Supermarkets this week. Inserra, based in Mahwah, New Jersey, operates 21 ShopRite supermarkets in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the Wakefern Food Corp. cooperative.
Onorato recently served as SVP of operational initiatives at Ahold USA and is former president of the New York Metro Division of Stop & Shop. He has more than 35 years of industry experience. He takes over for Steve Chalas, who is retiring after a 50-year career.
