New England Ice Cream CEO Remarks On Bliss Dairy Buy

New England Ice Cream CEO Bruce Ginsberg tells The Griffin Report he is pleased with the the recent purchase of Bliss Bros. Dairy, which he reveals will enhance his Taunton, Massachusetts, company’s distribution of ice cream products.

“We are very excited with regard to the Bliss Dairy acquisition,” he says. “The transaction was perfect for the Bliss family, their employees and the team at New England Ice Cream Corp. Dave Bliss and his wife Donna have done a tremendous job not only maintaining a devotion to quality ice cream, frozen yogurt and ice cream mix processing and dairy distribution that Dave’s grandfather started close to 100 years ago, but they also have grown their business based on a devotion to service. Dave and Donna’s children were certainly capable of taking the helm, but both had developed talents and passions outside of the dairy industry. Without a next generation to take over, the Blisses decided we (New England Ice Cream Corp.) would be best suited to carry on from here as we share a commitment to quality service and we are locally based.

“There is a real responsibility and a great opportunity to keep the Bliss business going strong,” Ginsberg adds. “Bliss has an iconic restaurant in Attleboro with a fantastic group of people that will remain in place. The processing and distribution teams are also exceptional and will remain in place. We are very excited and certainly appreciative for all of the customers that have come on board and embraced us through this transaction. With all of the big consolidations in the industry, it’s also nice to sometimes see a local business remaining local.”
