Walmart Asks Suppliers To Redirect Efforts To Cut Prices, And More…

Walmart is asking suppliers to forego their marketing investments with the retailer and instead focus on cutting costs on products so it can better compete against other retailers…

President Obama vetoed a measure passed by a Republican-run Congress, which blocked the National Labor Relations Board from streamlining the process for union elections. The NLRB rule, set to take effect on April 14, will shorten the amount of time between when an election is called and when it is held by eliminating a 25-day waiting period. Republicans and business groups opposed the rule, arguing it would limit the ability of businesses to prepare for elections. The Specialty Food Foundation of New York City is accepting inquiries until April 30 from nonprofit organizations seeking funding for work devoted to hunger relief and food recovery. Organizations whose mission and approach match those of the foundation will be asked to submit grant proposals. The proposals will be reviewed by foundation staff and its board of directors. Grants will be awarded in December 2015.
