Last updated on May 4th, 2015 at 03:16 pm

A panel discussion on the future food retail outlet will highlight the New Jersey Food Council (NJFC) Trade Relations Conference, to be held June 2 at the Tropicana Casino & Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Neill Crowley, adjunct professor at St. Joseph’s University, will lead the discussion. Panel members include Jim McCaffrey, president, McCaffrey’s Markets; Mendy Meriwether, food service beverage brand manager, Wawa Inc.; Joe Sofia, SVP, Wegmans Food Markets; and Andrew Keenan, director of retail operations, Advantage Sales & Marketing.

This year’s theme is “The Food Retail Outlet of the Future,” covering the evolution of digital, merchandising and marketing opportunities. The reception and program will be held 3-6 p.m.

Additionally, Marty Heaney, customer VP of Mondelez International, will be honored with the New Jersey Food Council Max Stone Trade Relations Award.

“Marty’s longstanding business relationships and partnerships with NJFC members and his continuous dedication to the advancement of the food industry made this year’s decision to honor him an easy one,” said NJFC President Linda Doherty.

“Marty has forged long-lasting food industry partnerships and is a role model as a respected trade relations leader,” she added.

The Max Stone Award is named in honor of the longtime trade relations leader for Best Foods CPC in recognition of his career in trade relations in New Jersey. The event will conclude with a golf event at Galloway National Golf Club at 9 a.m. June 3 in Galloway, New Jersey.
