The Navy Yard Development Corp. in Brooklyn, New York, has disclosed redevelopment plans for Admirals Row that will bring a long-anticipated supermarket, new manufacturing space and a new community facility to the site. Wegmans Food Markets will anchor the $140 million redevelopment of Admirals Row and initially will hire 450 people, including 150 full-time positions. It is projected that the number of full-time positions may grow to as many as 250, with as many as 600 total jobs expected…

AB Acquisition LLC, parent company of Albertson’s LLC, New Albertson’s Inc. and Safeway Inc., has named Mark Panzer SVP of pharmacy, health and wellness, overseeing the company’s 1,760 pharmacies in 34 states. Panzer replaces Darren Singer, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Panzer’s retail career began at Osco Drug stores more than 40 years ago. He moved into roles in regional sales and marketing and regional operations for the drug store chain, eventually serving as district manager and director and subsequently VP of sales and marketing with American Drug Stores…

He will oversee the company’s fresh and center store merchandising, sales and procurement, marketing and advertising. Gunn has more than 30 years of food retail experience. Prior to joining Weis Markets, he was EVP of merchandising and marketing at K-VA-T Food Stores, a food retailer operating stores in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee.
