Kroger Atlanta Pharmacist To Retire After 40 Years Of Service

Longtime Kroger pharmacist and Cumming, Georgia, resident David Leitch is retiring after 40 years of service with The Kroger Co.

Leitch began his career with Kroger in 1975 after graduating from the University of Georgia. He has served in many different roles throughout his career, including lead pharmacist, pharmacy manager, management trainee, pharmacy coordinator, drug/GM sales promoter, Rx sales promoter and manager of Rx services. For the past 21 years, Leitch has served as the pharmacy merchandiser for Kroger’s Atlanta Division.

“David’s leadership in pharmacy merchandising over the past 21 years has been a key factor to the success of the division,” says Ruben Fernandez, VP of merchandising for the Atlanta Division. “He will be greatly missed, and we wish him a happy and healthy retirement.”

Added Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division, “We thank David for his 40 years of service to the Kroger community. His expertise, knowledge and dedication to customers are unsurpassed.”

Leitch also serves on the UGA College of Pharmacy Advisory Board and the Mercer University Board of Visitors, and has worked closely with local universities on the recruitment of new pharmacists. He recently was recognized by Mercer University with the “V. Carlton Henderson Award” for his outstanding personal and professional achievement to the practice of pharmacy in the state of Georgia.
