Dunkin’ Donuts To Close Stores Within Speedway, And More…

Posting a lower sales increase than expected recently, Dunkin’ Donuts plans to close nearly 100 stores within Speedway convenience stores within the next year. The announcement came during an investor presentation on Oct. 1. Speedway in the last year took over all of the Hess gas stations and renamed them Speedway. The closing represents 1 percent of Dunkin’ Donuts’ U.S. sales. Despite the projected store closures, Dunkin’ Donuts’ management said there is is still an opportunity to double the company footprint in the U.S. The brand operates 8,200 U.S. stores and hopes to grow to 17,000 units within the next 15 years, especially in the western half of the U.S. …
