Coborn’s plans to build a new grocery store in Isanti, Minnesota. The St. Cloud-based company says the Isanti supermarket will showcase the next generation of Coborn’s store features, with a significant amount of the store dedicated to fresh offerings.
The approximately 45,000-s.f. store will be located at the corner of Highway 65 and County Road 5 and include a full-service Caribou Coffee with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a pharmacy with drive-thru. There also will be a convenience store with a car wash. Construction begins this month and the store will open in early summer 2016.

Coborn’s says it chose to build in Isanti because the community is healthy and vibrant, with a median age of 28. By 2020, the number of households in Isanti is projected to grow by 9.6 percent, according to a January 2015 report on the East Central Regional Housing Collaborative by Maxfield Research. The city council approved plans to build the Coborn’s store at its Oct. 20 meeting.
Coborn’s is employee owned and operates 54 supermarkets across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin under the Coborn’s, Cash Wise Foods and Save-A-Lot banners.
