Whole Foods Plans Large-Scale Solar Project, And More…

Whole Foods Market is working with national solar providers NRG and SolarCity to increase the number of rooftop solar units on the company’s U.S. stores. The company aims to install up to 100 additional solar rooftop units on its stores. “This program showcases an exciting step in Whole Foods Market’s efforts to increase support for renewable energy as well as lower energy costs,” said Kathy Loftus, global leader in sustainability for Whole Foods Market.”…

National Fish & Seafood of Gloucester, Massachusetts, a U.S.-based division of Pacific Andes Group, has announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Global Aquaculture Alliance and Vietnam-based Minh Phu, one of the largest aquaculture producers in the world. The MOU will help bring more than 800 small aquaculture farms into the ranks of certified facilities over the next 12 months, enabling them to then meet the demands of the marketplace for certified shrimp.
