Dunkin’ Donuts Expands Test Delivery In Metro Boston, And More…

Foodservice News In Brief…

Dunkin’ Donuts has expanded its test delivery service to the Boston metro area. Dunkin’ Donuts is partnering with delivery companies DoorDash and delivery app Favor to launch the service. Product delivery is aimed at less than 45 minutes. The company is continuing to evaluate a possible national rollout in the future. In other company news, Dunkin’ Brands’ Paul Twohig, president of Dunkin’ Donuts U.S. and Canada, has decided to retire at the end of the first quarter of 2017. The company plans to name a successor before the end of the year and currently is conducting a search. Twohig, 62, will remain in his current position, with responsibility for Dunkin’ Donuts U.S. and Canada operations as well as global franchising and store development for both Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, until a successor is appointed. After that, he will remain actively involved with the company until he retires next year. Additionally, Dunkin’ Donuts says that On-the-Go Ordering will be available exclusively for members of its DD Perks rewards program at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout the metro New York area. Beginning in mid-May, DD Perks members can order, pay in advance with a swipe of a finger on a smartphone and then skip the line in store…

Noted Boston Chef Jody Adams will depart from the Rialto and The Charles Hotel in Boston on June 22. She says she is looking forward to more time for family, nonprofit work and for “exciting new restaurant projects.” Rialto will continue under the leadership of Chef David Ladner, who has worked with Adams for five years at the Rialto.
