Mi Pueblo, a San Jose-based Hispanic grocery chain in Northern California, will work with suppliers towards sourcing only cage-free eggs throughout their entire operations by 2026, based on available supply. The initiative is a result to changes in customers’ buying habits and the company’s commitment to animal welfare and a more sustainable environment.

“Our customers asked, and we listened. We are committed to working closely with our vendors and partners to provide our customers with quality products at affordable prices while ensuring  the welfare and humane treatment of animals,” said Javier Ramirez, CEO and president of Mi Pueblo.

Mi Pueblo has a total of 19 store locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Central Valley and Monterey Bay Peninsula.
