Hungryroot, a brand of fresh vegetable-centric packaged foods, debuted two desserts at the recent Whole Foods Market grand opening in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. They are Almond Chickpea Cookie Dough and Black Bean Brownie Batter. Chef Franklin Becker says that all Hungryroot recipes are designed to maximize nutritional value while minimizing unhealthy fats, refined sugars, sodium, calories and cholesterol. Hungryroot is rethinking vegetables, creating simply craveable, wholesome foods that satisfy at every level, he notes. “I created Hungryroot because I’ve seen firsthand the effect that food has on people’s lives,” said Becker. “All of Hungryroot’s products recreate dishes people know and love with unique, nutritious alternatives.”…
