A New Jersey court has ruled in favor of Inserra Supermarkets to build a new ShopRite in Wyckoff, New Jersey. The decision dismissed some counts in an objection filed by Stop & Shop. The Inserra family, which owns 22 ShopRites in New Jersey and New York, would like to build a 62,000-s.f. store by December 2017. Inserra received approval in 2013 from a Wyckoff planning board following 38 public meetings. Building designs of the new ShopRite of Wyckoff will reflect the historic character and architecture of surrounding commercial and residential buildings. The city of Boston is holding a series of hearings to create a working group with the goal to formally broaden the conversation on a possible plastic bag ban and return recommendations to the city council. The dates for the public meetings are: 1 p.m. Sept. 13, Piemonte Room at Boston City Hall; 4 p.m. Oct. 4, Weld Hill Research Building at the Arnold Arboretum, 1300 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain; and 1 p.m. Oct. 25, Piemonte Room at Boston City Hall.
