Festival Foods annually recognizes a key business partner who had a significant impact on its ability to provide outstanding service to customers over the past year. The grocer’s 2016 Business Partner of the Year is dairy product supplier Kemps.

Festival Foods says it and Kemps share the philosophy of providing quality products at an exceptional value to guests. Since 1914, the mission at Kemps has been to nourish families with nutritious and wholesome dairy products. Starting out as a small creamery, Kemps has extended its roots to include the manufacturing and marketing of several dairy products. Headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, Kemps operates six manufacturing facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin and has more than 1,200 employees.

Kemps is Festival Foods’ No. 1 packaged and novelty ice cream brand. Festival Foods opened five new stores in 2016, and Kemps was instrumental in building the eye-catching displays in both the ice cream and milk sections, according to the grocery chain. Working with the Festival Foods’ in-store teams and product buyers, Kemps helped push the company to achieve 20 percent growth in the ice cream category in 2016.

Each year, Kemps also partners with Festival Foods to contribute to charity and community projects. Kemps is a main sponsor of nonprofit Einstein Grocers on the Green, which has raised more than $1 million for children’s science education.

“We think of ourselves as retail grocery innovators and Kemps shares that passion in the dairy supply channel,” said Festival Foods President and CEO Mark Skogen. “Their dedication to serving the same guest is second to none and they are a pleasure to work with. We are proud of our partnership with Kemps and happy to recognize them as our Business Partner of the Year for 2016.”

Greenbay-based Festival Foods operates 26 full-service supermarkets in Wisconsin.
