Downers Grove, Illinois-based Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, a specialty retailer focused on healthy and organic products and groceries, is partnering with Bags 4 My Cause (B4MC) on its new Fresh Thyme Giving Bag Program to support local nonprofit causes across all its Midwest stores.
As part of the program, which began March 1, shoppers who purchase a $2.99 Fresh Thyme reusable bag featuring a “Giving Tag” will have the option to direct $1 to a local nonprofit of their choice by logging on to the Fresh Thyme Giving Bag Program website. If a shopper does not choose a local nonprofit within seven days of purchase, the donation will automatically go to the local nonprofit designated by the location’s regional manager and store leadership team.
“As of February 2018, Bags 4 My Cause has raised over $650,000 to support over 4,000 local nonprofit causes across the U.S.,” said Chris Sherrell, CEO of Fresh Thyme. “We’re honored to work with an organization that shares our mission to be a good neighbor in the communities we serve; giving back is a large part of that commitment. By buying reusable bags, shoppers are able to protect the environment and give to a cause that matters to them.”
B4MC, located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, partners with retailers to provide reusable shopping bags. The organization’s mission is to “empower retailers to be the best they can be while supporting nonprofit causes, businesses and the planet.” The reusable bag program is designed to support local nonprofit causes and foster a movement aimed towards eliminating the use of paper and plastic single-use bags.
