Georgia Grocery Veteran Barry Robinson To Retire June 2

Georgia grocery industry veteran Barry Robinson is set to retire next week. Robinson’s last day with Delhaize America will be June 2.

Robinson has spent 26 years with J.H. Harvey Co., most recently serving as VP of operations for J.H. Harvey and Reid’s. He worked for 16 years with Piggly Wiggly Southern. He also has been active with the Georgia Food Industry Association (GFIA).

“On behalf of the GFIA board of directors, we want to thank Barry Robinson…for his many years of leadership and service with the GFIA,” the association said Thursday. “Barry’s passion for serving others and his strong integrity has made (him) an ideal leader with the GFIA. He has served as a past chairman of the GFIA and was on track to begin his second term as chair in 2015.”

Though he is retiring, GFIA says Robinson will attend the group’s annual convention in Florida next month.

Bi-Lo Holdings recently purchased the Reid’s and Harveys chains, along with Sweetbay, from Delhaize.
