The (NFRA) will support the industry in creating consumer promotions that highlight the great taste, quality and value of frozen foods during March Frozen Food Month 2011. The theme, Bringing Families Together with Easy Home Meals, takes advantage of consumers preparing more meals at home and positions frozen foods as the perfect meal solution.
Now in its 28th year, the promotion will feature a three-page FSI distributed to more than 37 million homes on March 6, showcasing coupons and product shots of the 19 participating sponsors and the Bringing Families Together theme. Consumers can enter a seven-day Family Caribbean Cruise Sweepstakes that will be hosted on NFRA’s consumer website, www.EasyHomeMeals.com. NFRA’s national spokesperson Mr. Food will also lend his TV support in promoting March Frozen Food Month during one of his regularly scheduled shows in March that reaches more than 4 million viewers daily.
A variety of resources including an Idea Book of great marketing tips, coordinating artwork and logos and themed point of sale are available to NFRA members to engage and encourage consumer participation in the March Frozen Food Month event. A consumer media push including print and radio, as well as the Easy Home Meals Facebook page and the Stay Cool e-newsletter will support the month-long effort.
Companies are encouraged to participate in the Golden Penguin Awards contest recognizing promotional excellence during March. There is a category for every segment of the industry. Winners will accept their awards at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 22-25.
