Paige Anderson and Nat Keller joined the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) earlier this week. Anderson is the group’s director of government relations and Keller is its marketing manager.
Anderson has extensive experience on Capitol Hill, and has particular expertise in energy policy and cyber-security. She most recently served as deputy chief of staff and legislative director for Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack.
At NACS, Anderson will represent the convenience and fuel retailing industry on a variety of issues, but will leverage her experience by focusing primarily on motor fuels and payment card data security issues.
“Paige brings a wealth of legislative experience to our government relations team that will greatly expand our effectiveness on Capitol Hill and enhance our abilities to represent out membership on the core issues of fuels and data security,” said NACS SVP of government relations Lyle Beckwith. “We are excited to have her join our team.”
Anderson also has served as legislative director for Congressman Paul Brown, legislative director for Congressman Darrell Issa, senior legislative assistant for Congressman Brian Bilbray, senior legislative assistant for Congressman Ken Calvert and staff assistant for Congressman Al McCandless. She also served as manager of government affairs and business services for TXU Inc. (now known as TXU Energy), the largest provider of electricity in Texas.
Anderson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and economics from the University of Illinois and a Master’s degree in national security studies from California State University, San Bernardino. She is a resident of Alexandria, Va.
Keller most recently served as marketing manager for the marketing services firm Larnish & Associates. He began his career in market research as an intern for Luntz, Maslansky Strategic Research and later served as a research analyst with State Net and as an associate with Raptor Strategies LLC.
Keller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and public relations from Northern Arizona University. He is active in the American Marketing Association’s Washington, D.C., chapter and currently serves as its VP for programming. Keller is a resident of Arlington, Va.
Founded in 1961, NACS is the international association for convenience and fuel retailing. The U.S. convenience store industry, with more than 148,000 stores across the country, posted $681 billion in total sales in 2011, of which $486 billion were motor fuels sales. NACS has 2,200 retail and 1,600 supplier member companies that do business in nearly 50 countries.
