KeHE Distributors has added key staff to its newly established Boulder, Colo., natural sales and marketing headquarters with the appointment of Scott Silverman as executive director—natural and organic.

“Scott’s deep understanding and passion for the natural products marketplace and his 20-year track record of identifying emerging trends and exciting new brands are a perfect fit for our team,” says Ted Beilman, EVP of marketing and merchandising for KeHE Distributors.

Silverman comes to KeHE from Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market (Tesco), where he was the merchandising executive responsible for innovation and execution of marketing and merchandising strategies across all core grocery categories. Previously Silverman held the positions of category director—specialty, natural and organic at Winn-Dixie, organic programs director at New Hope Natural Media, and was founder and president of Scotty’s Naturals—an organic non-dairy beverage and vegetarian foods company based in Boulder.

“I am delighted to join the KeHE team and to return to Boulder,” says Silverman. “As the natural and organic marketplace continues to grow, KeHE is well positioned to enhance their already enviable portfolio of marketing, merchandising and distribution services. I look forward to being an integral part of the continued success of the company while helping to serve the needs of the broader natural and organic products community.”

In addition to Silverman, Beata Pabian Klenk will be joining the team in Boulder on March 18 as the category director, gluten free. Through her time spent with Wild Oats, SPINS and Data Garden, Klenk brings extensive assortment expertise in the natural products arena, a news release says.

Anne Evanoff, KeHE’s current category director for vitamins, minerals, supplements and personal care, also will move to the Boulder office.

Additional personnel announcements for the Boulder office are expected in the future.

KeHE Distributors, based in Romeoville, Ill., provides natural and organic, specialty and gourmet, international and multicultural and fresh products to more than 35,000 retail outlets throughout North America.
