Piggly Wiggly To Open In Genoa, Ill.

Piggly Wiggly Midwest plans to open a new Piggly Wiggly Supermarket in Genoa, Ill., next month. The store previously operated as Brown’s County Market.

“We are excited to bring Piggly Wiggly to Genoa,” says Paul Butera, owner of Piggly Wiggly Midwest. “Customers are going to love our products and the weekly specials. Piggly Wiggly is also well known for offering friendly customer service.”

The new Piggly Wiggly store, which is expected to create 70 jobs, will offer fresh-from-the-farm produce, a bakery, full-service deli department, fresh meat department offering Certified Angus Beef, Gerber Amish Chicken, Farmland Pork plus fresh and frozen seafood, and a full liquor department. In addition to a full line of store brand products, the store also will feature a variety of imported and domestic foods including an expanded line of Hispanic products.

With the opening of the Genoa store, Piggly Wiggly Midwest will supply 101 Piggly Wiggly supermarkets in the greater Wisconsin and northern Illinois areas, as well as nine Butera Market stores and two Eurofresh stores in the Chicagoland area.
