Fraudulent Wine Coupon Circulating

Wine importer Palm Bay International is warning retailers of a fraudulent Cavit coupon that is circulating in the U.S.

In a letter to the Vermont Department of Liquor Control, Palm Bay Compliance Specialist Justin Appel says, “While we have not found use of this coupon in the state of Vermont, there has been attempted use in other U.S. markets and we wanted to make you aware of this attempted coupon fraud.

“Please know that Palm Bay International Inc. is in no way responsible for this coupon, and we ask that you please watch out and do not accept this or any similar fraudulently made coupon.”

The $4 “instant coupon” (see above) features a bar code and claims to be valid in stores where wine is sold.
