Welcome to The Griffin Report’s ninth annual listing of Women of Influence in the Food Industry.
This year’s list of outstanding females include women from various backgrounds, experience and channels. Categories include brokers, distributors, retailers, franchises, manufacturers, organizations/associations, restaurants and universities.
I am proud to introduce these women trendsetters whose leadership, skill and dedication made, and are making, a difference and qualify them for inclusion in this prestigious listing. The honorees were chosen for their highly visible contributions to our industry, their professionalism and the awareness they have generated for the potential of other women in our business.
This year we are profiling 76 women who, we have found, play a significant role in their company through their leadership, expertise and dedication and even beyond through their charity, philanthropy and civic work.
These highly successful honorees also have some pretty ambitious pastimes: they ski, kayak, scuba dive, hike, bike, run, golf, fish and paint. This year’s honorees include a sommelier, a NASCAR enthusiast, a hunting dog trainer, a glass-blower, a snowboarder and a genealogist…to name just a few. These women are passionate about their families, their companies, their customers and their communities.
Shelby Publishing Co. will continue to recognize women who make a difference. As always, we welcome your feedback and comments, and if you know a female leader, innovator, trendsetter or someone special that you feel might qualify for our Women of Influence in the Food Industry list, I’d love to hear from you. You can nominate an honoree by going to our website at foodindustrywomen.com and clicking on the Nominate link.
Please join me in applauding these 76 phenomenal women of influence. I hope you enjoy reading this feature.
