Great Scot And Community Markets To Launch Thanks For Giving Campaign

Fresh Encounter Inc. will launch its first Thanks for Giving holiday food drive campaign on Nov. 1. The initiative will take place at all 25 Community Markets, Sack ‘n Save and Great Scot Supermarkets throughout Ohio and Indiana in November.

“The program is simple. We will donate eight meals to the West Ohio Food Bank for every turkey purchased at any one of our stores in the month of November,” said Todd Deal, director of meat operations for Fresh Encounter.

A donation of eight meals will be made for every purchase of any whole turkey, whether marked down for a sale or offered at regular prices.

Fresh Encounter hopes to donate 50,000 meals.

“Food shortages are a year-round concern and we hope our donation will not only assist with these needs during the holidays, but beyond that as well,” Deal said.

Fresh Encounter is Ohio’s largest independently-owned retail grocery operator and employs 1,100 people.
