Cincinnati, Ohio-based Kroger is encouraging fans in central Ohio to “Roast the Ducks” in the lead-up to the Ohio State University Buckeyes’ football battle tonight with the University of Oregon. The teams will vie for the first national college football title to be decided through a playoff system.

The promotion is taking place in 70 Kroger stores offering duck for $2.99 a pound. The Kroger Co. has brought in extra supplies of duck for its stores in the region, The Associated Press reports. The grocery retailer also is serving up recipes and advice from meat department staff on how to prepare roast duck for viewing parties.
