Indianapolis Fruit Co. Selling ‘The Produce Mom’ To Lori Taylor

The Produce Mom, the blog and consumer brand of Indianapolis Fruit Co., will be sold to Lori Taylor, author of The Produce Mom and consumer marketing manager of Indianapolis Fruit Co.

The Produce Mom has grown substantially since its inception in 2012, led by Taylor. The efforts of The Produce Mom have driven considerable consumer and media interest, spawning a movement in the produce industry to promote fruits and vegetables the way major brands have been promoted.

Taylor’s efforts and the brand assets of The Produce Mom have grown to represent an entire industry, not just one organization. That is why Indianapolis Fruit Co. said it has agreed to assist Taylor in creating a separate business entity whose purpose will be to continue to promote farmers, growers, suppliers and brands within the produce industry and to educate and excite families about consuming more produce.

Taylor said, “I am forever grateful to Indianapolis Fruit Co. Indy Fruit allowed me to present an idea, and then supported my idea, and now they are providing me with an opportunity to own my idea. This is an incredible moment in my life. I am passionate about marketing fresh produce and helping families increase their consumption of fruits and vegetables. The Produce Mom delights in being an advocate for our industry. The brand will continue to serve The Produce Mom Family of Partners, as well as our consumer audience across the nation.”

Indianapolis Fruit Co. and Taylor will provide updates on the transition in the coming weeks.

As The Produce Mom, Taylor has received national recognitions, including the Fruit & Veggies–More Matters Industry Champion by Produce for Better Health Foundation, Walt Disney Kids Concern, Well Dunn Recipient by the WNBA Indiana Fever, Woman of Influence by the National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health, Indiana’s Most Influential Dame at the Social Media Summit and a community partner for the Indianapolis Public Schools’ Foodservice Department.
