Nick Matook, SVP of the Northeast for Acosta Sales & Marketing in Marlboro, Massachusetts, will be honored at the Massachusetts Food Association’s (MFA) 34th Family Reunion Convention this Memorial Day weekend at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in New Hampshire. He will be presented with the Milton Segal Distinguished Service Award on May 24 for contributions he and Acosta have made to the association as well as to the success of the MFA Family Reunion Convention.
Matook, a 35-year industry veteran, has performed every job in the food brokerage business. He has worked for Acosta for 25 years in New England.
“The MFA has a longstanding relationship and great support from Nick and Acosta Sales & Marketing,” said MFA President Chris Flynn. “We are extremely grateful to him for his continued participation through the years in our convention and the association. He has been instrumental in the continued success of the event and of MFA.”
Flynn added that Matook is one of those people involved in the MFA in a quiet way, but one who “can get things done. Nick also knows how to get people involved. Nick is someone who rolls up his sleeves and gets the work done. He’s not at the microphone but behind the scenes, and he has made and continues to make great contributions to our organization.”
Besides his work with the reunion event, Matook has been involved with the MFA Strategic Plan and how to broaden the organization’s membership and support from all segments of the food industry.
This year’s convention theme is “MFA on Safari” and will focus on local products of the Northeast. Many events will celebrate the theme and focus throughout the three-day gathering.
